NBA has partnered with both Cignal and Smart to broadcast NBA games and programming to the Philippines for free. Starting Friday, July 31, as the NBA season restarts, TV5 and ONE Sports will broadcast live NBA games, including four games every week. Meanwhile, the NBA Finals will be broadcast exclusively on TV5. Cignal will also launch NBA TV Philippines, a dedicated 24/7 channel for the NBA league, featuring live games and original programs in HD. Additionally, Smart will also be live streaming NBA TV Philippines exclusively to the network's paid subscribers through its new over-the-top-service. Smart will also relaunch NBA.com/Philippines, where fans can access game highlights, stats, standings, scores, and schedules. Smart added that the new plans are supported by its network performance improvements, aimed at delivering better streaming, gaming, and video call experiences. Like Starlink, the service aims to use a network of satellites to deliver internet directly to users on the ground.
