Just as we reported last week, Qualcomm has now officially launched its all-new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. Qualcomm calls the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 its "most powerful Snapdragon 7-series — ever." The chip manufacturer says that the 7+ Gen 2's Kryo CPU boasts substantial performance upgrades of up to 50% in overall improvement and performance gains. The new chip will also introduce improvements in both photo and video capture, with Qualcomm saying that the 18-bit Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP in the chip captures 4,000x more data than a 14-bit ISP for both photos and videos. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon Wear Elite, a new processor designed for smartwatches and other wearable devices, bringing on-device AI features along with improved performance and battery life. The company said the new chip will power future flagship WearOS smartwatches and other AI-powered wearables such as smart pins and pendants. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon Wear Elite offers up to five times faster CPU performance and up to seven times better graphics performance compared with the previous Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2 chip. Meanwhile, the HONOR 600 Pro upgrades to the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
