NOW Corporation, a telecom, media and technology listed firm in the Philippine Stock Exchange, just upgraded their current wireless broadband equipment. From the 700Mbps the new equipment upgrade is now able to service up to 2.4Gbps. The Philippines remains among the slowest countries in transitioning away from 3G networks, with most mobile users still relying on older devices that do not support newer voice technologies. Compared to neighboring countries, the Philippines trails behind Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand in VoLTE adoption. GSMA Intelligence estimates VoLTE penetration in the Philippines could rise to 43.2% this year. Inflation is now (May 2026) at 7.2%, electricity rates at Php14.33/kWhr, and gas prices through the roof; we don’t want to add any more burden on our regular bills.
