OnePlus has announced their latest feature, an AI Eraser coming to select OnePlus phones this month. Similar to Samsung’s Object Eraser, OnePlus’ AI Eraser leverages AI to remove unwanted elements in a photo. This sample image from OnePlus below shows that the hands are digitally removed and filled with background elements. In efforts to provide users with tools to make edited photos feel more natural, OnePlus built the tool from scratch. OnePlus said that the AI Eraser is the result of a substantial R&D investment from the company. This allows the AI Eraser to ‘intelligently substitute unwanted objects with contextually appropriate elements that naturally elevate the photo’s appeal’. This AI Eraser feature is coming to the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Open, OnePlus 11, and OnePlus Nord CE4 later this month. OnePlus is a start-up company led by Pete Lau back in 2013 when he left Oppo to begin anew.
