#Perplexity Max

Perplexity AI has announced that its AI-powered web browser, COMET, is now available for free to users worldwide. The browser, first introduced in July and initially limited to Perplexity Max subscribers at $200 per month, is designed to act as a personal AI assistant capable of searching the web, organizing tabs, drafting emails, shopping, and more. COMET merges Perplexity’s conversational AI capabilities with the familiar functionality of a traditional browser, allowing users to combine productivity and intelligent search in one platform. Users can now download the desktop version of COMET directly from Perplexity’s website, though it has yet to appear on the macOS App Store or Microsoft Store. The mobile release will make Comet “available on any device, with a personal AI designed for your phone.” Alongside the browser’s public release, Perplexity is also introducing new features. The company also recently introduced an EMAIL ASSISTANT for Max subscribers, capable of automatically completing email-related tasks like setting up meetings or drafting replies. Perplexity’s move to make COMET free could help it expand its user base and better compete with industry giants like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic, all of which have launched their own AI-driven browsing or agent tools.
