The new version of the Philippine e-Passport is set to be released by the DFA in 2016. The passport cover are specially printed and manufactured in Europe while the inner pages are being printed by the Central Bank of the Philippines. The inner pages of the new e-Passport will have a colored background prints of several national interest (Philippine Eagle, Rizal Monument, Rice Terraces, etc.) Each of the pages also have a one-liner print of the National Anthem. With this change, UnionBank joins other commercial banks in the Philippines that have also removed fees for real-time digital fund transfers. More banks in the Philippines have been removing InstaPay transfer fees as digital banking services continue to become more competitive. The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) will stop charging fees for InstaPay and PESONet transfers starting July 7, 2026.
