Baguio City has revealed that they have created a blockchain called GoodGovChain which is based on the BayaniChain Digital Public Asset (DPA) Framework. The Philippines has made steady progress toward the objective of becoming Southeast Asia's hub for digital assets and fully digitizing government operations and services ever since. To raise public awareness and educate the public about cutting-edge technologies and what they can actually do to address pressing problems in the real world, numerous financial technology (fintech), Web3 and blockchain events have been hosted. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in January between the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) and the international blockchain firm nChain, which will provide blockchain solutions and expert assistance in the digitization of the province's systems, processes, and services. The latest government initiative supporting the drive for the digital transformation of the Philippines is the collaboration between PEZA and DICT. It also demonstrates the Philippines' determination to play a bigger role in the emerging digital economy. "Over the past decade, Mynt has evolved from an e-wallet operator into the Philippines' number one finance superapp and largest cashless ecosystem," said Mynt President and CEO Martha Sazon. Mynt said a public listing could also help highlight the growth of the local technology and fintech sector, while promoting the Philippines as a hub for innovation in Southeast Asia.
