SpaceX is expected to provide internet services in the Philippines using Starlink, a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network constellation with over 1,600 satellites currently in orbit, and will come in handy in servicing areas where the usual mobile and fiber internet is not easily accessible. Amazon may launch its satellite internet service, called Project Kuiper (also known as Amazon LEO), in the Philippines as early as this year, according to Henry Aguda. Like Starlink, the service aims to use a network of satellites to deliver internet directly to users on the ground. Two US-based satellite internet providers are expected to launch in the Philippines this year, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
