It seems that Qualcomm is planning on releasing yet another dedicated chipset for Windows 10 laptops, being dubbed as the Snapdragon 1000. The Snapdragon 1000 is projected to be the follow-up to the recently announced Snapdragon 850, Qualcomm's first official dedicated chipset for mobile PCs. The chipset's size is also relatively larger than the Snapdragon 850, 20x15mm (SDM1000) vs 12x12mm (SDM850). Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300. Qualcomm said laptops powered by Snapdragon C are expected to launch later this year from brands including Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI.
