Qualcomm Technologies has just announced today two new chipsets with integrated LTE and 64-bit capabilities - the octa-core Snapdragon 615 and the quad-core Snapdragon 610. The Snapdragon 615 sports eight 64-bit ARM Cortex A53 cores while the Snapdragon 610 has four. The Snapdragon 610 and 615 processors are anticipated to begin sampling in the third quarter of 2014 and the first commercial devices are expected in the fourth quarter of 2014. Qualcomm has announced that its annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026, in Hawaii, where the company is expected to introduce its next-generation Snapdragon processors. While Qualcomm has not officially confirmed the products that will be unveiled during the summit, the Snapdragon Summit has traditionally served as the company's stage for introducing its flagship mobile platforms. Industry reports also suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series could be Qualcomm's first flagship mobile processors manufactured using a 2nm process, although the company has yet to confirm the manufacturing details or pricing. Qualcomm is expected to share additional details about the event as Snapdragon Summit 2026 draws closer. Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon C platform, a new processor designed for entry-level laptops priced starting at around USD 300.
