Qualcomm has just announced the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3, which targets mid-range smartphones. Qualcomm claims that this chipset has a 15% processor performance boost over the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2. But even so, Qualcomm claims that the GPU is 45% faster than the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2’s GPU. Additionally, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 GPU has support for super-resolution in games, frame interpolation, and 120Hz support at QHD+ resolutions. For cameras, the new chipset seems to have similar capabilities to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. To wrap this up, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3’s other features are inclusive of the FastConnect 7800 wireless connectivity suite (Wi-Fi 7 support with HBS Multi-Link and Bluetooth 5.4), LPDDR5X RAM support, UFS 4.0 storage, Spatial Audio, and Snapdragon Seamless support. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity.
