The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite has been announced as the company’s next flagship chipset ahead of the 2025 Snapdragon Summit. Instead of following the vein of an ‘Elite Gen 2’ label, Qualcomm explained how the Snapdragon 8 Elite was the fourth-gen iteration via Weibo. Here’s the flagship chips in order—Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 4), Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Branding-wise, it’s highly possible that the chip will be touted as ‘Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy’. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. According to Qualcomm, upcoming devices powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will come from brands including HONOR and REDMI. Under the hood, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip powers the said tablet and is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
