Xiaomi apparently has a deal with Qualcomm to launch the first smartphone with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The OnePlus 12, iQOO 12, Xiaomi 14, and Xiaomi 14 Pro were the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 upon release in China. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that may launch this year already has a successor in the works. As suggested by leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset is said to have a massive performance jump compared to the Gen 3 chip. According to a reliable leaker, Tech_Reve from Twitter, the user has pointed out that Qualcomm is mass-producing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in an improved 3nm process, the N3E, of TSMC. Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processors. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 can deliver up to 77% better GPU performance and supports 90FPS gameplay which is a first for the first time in the Snapdragon 4 series.
