Qualcomm has announced a more powerful variant of the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset built for gaming, the Snapdragon 855+. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855+ is built for speed and enhanced performance. It features a Qualcomm Kryo 485 CPU Prime clocked at 2.96GHz, while the Adreno 640 GPU delivers up to 15% faster graphics rendering compared to the standard Snapdragon 855. Other features include 4th-gen on-device AI engine using the Qualcomm Hexagon 690 processor with support for XR(virtual reality/augmented reality) applications, Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G connectivity, Qualcomm aptX Audio, Qualcomm Aqstic, and support for True HDR. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 includes AI-powered camera features, Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for gaming, up to 21% better GPU performanc, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and ultra-fast 5G connectivity.
