Rakuten Viber has partnered with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT-powered features directly into the Viber app for users in the Philippines. Through the integration, Viber users can now access ChatGPT tools without leaving the messaging app. The new features are available for free on Viber for iOS and Android, with desktop support coming at a later date. Rakuten Viber said the rollout is designed to make AI tools more accessible for everyday use, even for users who may not have used an AI assistant before. One of the main additions is a dedicated ChatGPT in Viber contact and tab, which lets users ask questions, get help with tasks, brainstorm ideas, or search for information directly within the app. Viber is also adding the ability to tag ChatGPT in private and group conversations. Viber said only the specific message addressed to ChatGPT is shared for processing, not the rest of the conversation. The partnership also introduces several other ChatGPT-powered tools inside Viber.
