That’s about to change as Samsung recently announced the largest capacity SSD to date – the Samsung PM1633a – which can hold almost 16 terabytes of data! At the core of the PM1633a is the same 3D V-NAND implementation found on the recently-launched 850 EVO/850 Pro SSDs. However, instead of 128Gbit NAND dies, the South Korean giant used their 256Gbit NAND flash and combined them to form the PM1633a’s astonishing 15.36TB storage space. Event though the PM1633a still adheres to the 2.5-inch standard, Samsung’s new SSD is noticeably thicker than most SSDs. So just imagine how much the Samsung PM1633a will cost if it reach the market. Note: The SRP of the Samsung PM1633a was not disclosed during the event. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former.
