Samsung Electronics has unveiled today the industry's first removable memory cards based on the JEDEC Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 1.0 Card Extension Standard, aimed at high-resolution mobile shooting devices such as DSLRs, 3D VR cameras, action cams and drones. The Samsung UFS cards come in 32, 64, 128, and 256GB capacities. According to Samsung, UFS cards allows consumers to read a 5GB, Full-HD movie in approximately 10 seconds, or shoot 24 large/extra fine JPEGs continuously with a high-end DSLR camera in less than seven seconds. Samsung has announced the development of UFS 5.0. This is more than double the performance of Samsung's previous UFS 4.1 solution. Samsung also claims UFS 5.0 is more than 40% more power efficient than UFS 4.1. Samsung has launched its new T7 and T9 microSD cards in the Philippines, replacing the company’s previous EVO-branded storage lineup. The Samsung T7 microSD cards are available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants.
