Beep continues to expand as they have announced its soon to be compatibility with the northern toll roads. Motorists passing through the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) can pay at toll booths with Beep cards by early 2017. NLEX is expected to adopt it first followed by SCTEX. When this gets implemented, the expressways of the north will join CAVITEX which started to accept Beep sometime in Q3 2016. The Beep unified payment system is also accepted at LRTs, MRT, select bus lines, and convenience stores. recently announced that you can use the "beep" card for cashless payments at the LRT 1, LRT 2, and MRT 3 starting October 3. The beep card is a stored value smart card that you can use for cashless transactions like paying for your fare at the LRT1, LRT2 and MRT3. The beep card aims to reduce time spent in ticket-buying lines, and streamline train line transfers.
