In an announcement today, ABS-CBN released a statement that its Sky Cable sale to PLDT will "no longer push through". This surprising turn of events happened after all regulatory requirements were approved and Sky Cable ceased operations. Sky Cable also ended its cable broadcast last February 26, 2024. Sky Cable has now reversed its announcement to subscribers that their cable TV service will continue to operate. PLDT and Google’s Taara project have brought fiber-like internet to Barangay Subay in Talim Island, Rizal without laying a single underwater cable. SKYcable informed subscribers that it will discontinue several HBO channels starting 11:59 p.m. These channels will no longer be part of the regular SKYcable lineup beginning December 1, 2025.
