Smart has just announced that their own nano-SIM cards are now available in stores for only Php40 (for the prepaid SIM). While no official handset offered by Smart uses a nano-SIM, the about-to-be-released iPhone 5 does. For postpaid subscribers, Smart is offering a nano-SIM replacement for free. Since the iPhone 5 is already out in the gray market, we managed to get a nano-SIM from a Globe Store a couple of days ago. Smart still doesn't sell any nano-SIM so we had to cut a micro-SIM to be able to try it on the iPhone 5. So we bought a SmartBro micro-SIM for Php150 and tried to cut it down into the nano-SIM size. The final remaining SIM will actually be a little smaller than the actual nano-SIM. This should work just fine if you have a Smart postpaid account and they can't sell you a nano-SIM yet.
