Qualcomm has officially launched its latest chipset, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 features a max clock speed of 2.4Ghz and is powered by an Adreno 662 GPU. The chipset replaces the older Snapdragon 778G with claims that it handles graphics 20 percent faster than its predecessor. With the new manufacturing process, Qualcomm brings a lot of features in the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 including the support for 200MP images. Qualcomm also says that aside from 200MP captures the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 also supports 4K HDR video recording, 10-bit HEIC photo capture and HEVC video recording. The latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 brings the Snapdragon X62 5G modem that can handle speeds of up to 4.4 Gbps download with dual 5G standby connectivity. Support for WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, plus support for Snapdragon Sound and aptX support. The first models of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 powered phones will be out soon and may first begin with the OPPO Reno 8 lineup.
