Qualcomm has announced that its annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 22 to 24, 2026, in Hawaii, where the company is expected to introduce its next-generation Snapdragon processors. The event is expected to feature the company's latest mobile chip announcements, including the anticipated Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. While Qualcomm has not officially confirmed the products that will be unveiled during the summit, the Snapdragon Summit has traditionally served as the company's stage for introducing its flagship mobile platforms. Industry reports also suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series could be Qualcomm's first flagship mobile processors manufactured using a 2nm process, although the company has yet to confirm the manufacturing details or pricing. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 may run on a new processor called the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Earlier reports suggested the device would use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, but the new leak says OnePlus could instead use the more powerful SM8975 chip. On board, it uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and OnePlus says it brings noticeable speed gains over the last generation.
