Sony has commenced the rollout of the Android 15 update for its mid-range smartphone, the Xperia 10 VI. The update arrives approximately three weeks after the Xperia 10 V received the same Android 15 treatment. While Sony has not provided a detailed changelog, users can anticipate enhancements similar to those observed in other Xperia models updated to Android 15. This development underscores Sony’s commitment to providing timely software updates across its device lineup, enhancing user experience through the latest Android features and security enhancements. Alongside the flagship Sony Xperia 1 VI, the company also unveiled the mid-range Sony Xperia 10 VI — which retains the cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio that Xperia phones have been known for. Unlike its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VI ditches the telephoto camera, but compromises with optical image stabilization support for the main shooter. Sony has confirmed that it will launch the Xperia 1 VIII on May 13 at 11:00 AM JST. Sony is also expected to announce the A7R VI full-frame mirrorless camera and a new 100-400mm f/4.5 GM lens during the launch.
