Globe has officially launched Starlink's satellite-to-mobile service in the Philippines after receiving approval from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), making it the first local telecom operator to commercially offer direct-to-device satellite connectivity in the country. It supports voice and video calls through supported apps, messaging apps, SMS, and basic navigation services using Starlink's low-Earth orbit satellites. According to Globe, the service works by allowing compatible LTE smartphones with an active Globe SIM to connect directly to Starlink satellites once they are outside Globe's terrestrial network coverage and have a clear view of the sky. Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers can access the service through a Globe Starlink promo starting at PHP 99, while Globe Platinum and Postpaid users with Plan 1499 and above can use it at no extra cost. The internet service is powered by Starlink and provides public WiFi access inside Pasig Mega Market. PLDT Enterprise continues to strengthen its position as a leader in innovative connectivity solutions through its highly successful collaboration with Starlink Corporate Broadband Services, further expanding reliable internet access to enterprises across the Philippines. By the first quarter of 2026 alone, PLDT Enterprise had already deployed nearly 1,000 Starlink broadband units to corporations, government institutions, logistics operators, energy companies, financial institutions, retail businesses, and organizations operating in geographically isolated and disaster-prone locations.
