The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) now requires public utility vehicle (PUV) operators and passengers to use the StaySafe.ph contact tracing mobile app. The app will be implemented on all public utility vehicles, as per the Memorandum Circular No. 2021-041 released on June 21, 2021, and approved through the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution No. With this, PUV operators are given 30 days to comply with the following guidelines: • Register to StaySafe.ph app and create their QR code. • Coordinate with the StaySafe.ph regarding data and information collection for contact tracing. It is designed to make QR-based payments more stable and easier to use, especially in busy market areas where connection issues often happen.
