vivo has been recognized as the top 5G smartphone vendor in the Asia Pacific in Q2 2021, according to global market solutions company Strategy Analytics, Inc. According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, vivo leads the Asia Pacific 5G shipments in the said quarter for the first time. “vivo is the leading [5G] smartphone vendor in the Asia Pacific, with annual shipment growth of 215%,” says Yiwen Wu, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics. Moreover, as per Strategy Analytics, the Asia Pacific’s 5G smartphone shipments have more than doubled over the last year (up 110% annually). According to Strategy Analytics' latest report (via Sina Tech), Xiaomi has 6.0 million in shipments as of February 2020, while Huawei has 5.5 million. Strategy Analytics also reported a huge drop in global smartphone shipments at -38% YoY growth as of February 2020. Some Asian factories were unable to manufacture smartphones, while many consumers were unable or unwilling to visit retail stores and buy new devices," said Linda Sui, Director at Strategy Analytics.
