vivo named as top 5G smartphone vendor in Asia Pacific for Q2 2021

vivo has been recognized as the top 5G smartphone vendor in the Asia Pacific in Q2 2021, according to global market solutions company Strategy Analytics, Inc.

According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, vivo leads the Asia Pacific 5G shipments in the said quarter for the first time.

“vivo is the leading [5G] smartphone vendor in the Asia Pacific, with annual shipment growth of 215%,” says Yiwen Wu, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics.

The brand leads with 20.0 % 5G shipments, followed by Xiaomi at 19.3%, OPPO at 18.7%, Apple at 18.5%, and Samsung at 6.6%.

“Vivo has grown past Xiaomi, OPPO, and Apple over the course of the past year to take the top spot in 5G smartphones. Vivo has capitalized on the decline of Huawei, which in the year-ago quarter sold more than half of all 5G smartphones in the Asia Pacific region, but has virtually disappeared from the market. The combination of leading technology and affordable prices have made Vivo’s smartphones, such as its iQOOO U3 5G and iQOOO 7 5G, the most popular 5G devices in the region,” Wu added.

Moreover, as per Strategy Analytics, the Asia Pacific’s 5G smartphone shipments have more than doubled over the last year (up 110% annually). They also noted that three of the Top 5 5G smartphone vendors by shipments for the region were Chinese brands.

iQoo phones are only released in China. Having a store/kiosk in every mall helps, not to mention easy to use interface (funtouch os).
