Tizen will now power new home appliances equipped with larger displays, such as ovens and washing machines. Notably, Samsung unveiled the Tizen SDK, featuring a combined 2D and 3D graphics engine, to support the development of innovative applications on the platform. Samsung has just announced their latest 'premium' smartphone in the form of the Samsung Z, and the company says that it is targeted towards users who want a different experience packed in a light and efficient package since it is running Tizen. Samsung has lots of plans to improve the Tizen ecosystem through app challenges in Russia, so it will be nice to see how everything turns out. So it becomes official -- Meego is now officially dead and a new Linux-based mobile operating system is being groomed to replace it, and it's called Tizen.
