With Uber momentarily gone here in the Philippines, several alternatives for the said ride-sharing app have emerged. Starting June 15, you can be one of the first to try uberPOOL — a ride sharing feature that Uber launched in other countries that has been proven to cut down on the number of cars on the road. According to Uber's newsroom, this feature will work by following this instruction: Request: Under uberX, select the uberPOOL option. Uber is bolstering their carpooling services in the country with the launch of uberHOP - a new Uber option that allows multiple people heading in the same direction to share a ride for a flat fare. uberHOP is a special pilot and currently available within Makati and BGC. uberHOP users will share a large vehicle that can take up to 6 riders.
