Uber PH introduces their newest ridesharing feature — uberPOOL

Starting June 15, you can be one of the first to try uberPOOL — a ride sharing feature that Uber launched in other countries that has been proven to cut down on the number of cars on the road. Basically, it allows you to share your ride and save on costs, while getting cars off the road.

According to Uber’s newsroom, this feature will work by following this instruction:

  • Request: Under uberX, select the uberPOOL option. Set your pick-up location AND destination so you can get the upfront price.
  • Ride: You may be matched with another rider traveling along a similar route. Picking up additional riders may add a few minutes to your trip, but this guarantees a cheaper fare.
  • Relax: Sit back, whether or not you’re matched with other rides, you’ll still pay up to 25% less!

uberPOOL will be available on the entire Metro Manila starting June 15. Would you try out uberPOOL when it launches? Do you think it’s the future of transportation? Tell us what you think on the comment section below.

If your doing uberpool be considerate sa uber driver lalo na kung isang passenger ka lang. Kasi on an ordinary metered rate half lng babayaran mo, kulang pa pang gas at yung deduction ng uber sa mga driver at operator. N domingo to ortigas p40 pesos, cge na i free na naming mga driver yung ride niyo. So kung your not a rich uber operator don’t go into this business kasi charity lang gagawin mo pag uberpool.

If you are going to share a ride with other passengers (aka carpooling), better use Wunder – Manila Carpool app instead.

One thing that makes Wunder great is that they have Member Relations team which verifies authentic member profile (iwas o para ma-minimize ang scammers o posers/fake accounts). They also have ratings shown on profiles which establish the reputation of each member.

Carpooling is great alternative way of commuting to and from work especially if malayo ka sa lugar like you’re working in Makati but live in Cavite, etc. imbes na pumila ka pa sa FX terminal o magbus. The drivers of Wunder/carpooling do it naman to cover the costs involved in driving especially sa gas/toll fees (not really para gawing hanapbuhay). Either way, it is win-win for the carpoolers driver man o passenger.

Good concept that may not be that applicable to the Philippines. Goodluck sa holdapers.
