It's similar to the already operational uberHOP and uberPOOL service, but it will be a more traditional carpooling of private vehicles in which the driver will be able to share his drive and split the cost of the trip. Like your usual UberX ride, Uber will automatically calculate the expected time and distance plus the traffic situation and driver availability when you're booking. If you'll have extra stops for your UberX, you'll be charged with the original time and distance rates  as it affects the calculation of your trip.
