UNTV has just announced that they will actively employ drones to help them in broadcasting and news reporting. Based on their report it looks like UNTV is using the DJI Phantom for taking aerial footages. They've used the same drones in taking videos in the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda and during the procession of the Nazarene. UNTV is also using drones to get videos for their traffic reports. Using drones make more sense and is cost-effective compared to renting helicopters and flying cameramen over to take videos. Last month, the Department of National Defense also announced they will be acquiring drones to assist them in surveillance, security, and search & rescue operations.
