Top US Intelligence Agencies, including the CIA, FBI, and NSA, have expressed their distrust on Huawei in a hearing recently, and have suggested the Americans not to buy any products from the Chinese company. Huawei has been blocked by any US Government contracts and has been called off from American carriers AT&T and Verizon due to pressure by the US Congress. Now, top US agencies are also advising private citizens to avoid buying smartphones from Huawei because according to Wray, "It provides the capacity to maliciously modify or steal information, and provides the capacity to conduct undetected espionage". Huawei said in a response: "Huawei is aware of a range of U.S. government activities seemingly aimed at inhibiting Huawei's business in the U.S. Huawei is trusted by governments and customers in 170 countries worldwide and poses no greater cybersecurity risk than any ICT vendor, sharing as we do common global supply chains and production capabilities." The one above is the Huawei WiFi E589 which supports LTE, 3G and 2G connections with speeds up to 50Mbps.
