DaVinci Resolve 21 now includes a new Photo page that lets users edit images, as Blackmagic Design expands its app beyond video. Alongside photo tools, the update adds new AI features for video. Other AI tools can remove skin marks, sharpen blurry footage, and fix motion blur in videos. With this update, Blackmagic Design is adding more editing tools that may compete with apps like Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. This lets users record themselves and their screen at the same time, making it easier to create reaction videos without needing to switch apps or set up a green screen. Supported devices will gain features such as Ultra HDR capture and playback, built-in video stabilization and Night Sight integration for better low-light photos and videos. The brand says it has also optimized the upload process so that photos and videos posted to Instagram retain more of their original quality. Smart Enhance can upscale photos and videos with a single tap using on-device AI while Sound Separation can isolate voices, music and background noise to make audio cleanup easier.
