VLC, the famed free and open source media player, has outed a new updated called the VLC 3.0 'Vetinari' which adds support for Chromecast, as well as 4K and 8K playback. The Vetinari update now supports 10bits, HDR, 360 video and 3D audio, up to Ambisoncics 3rd order. It can now Chromecast videos, even in formats that aren't natively supported by VLC.
