As the restrictions imposed on the community quarantine becomes less strict, Waze is adding new features to help keep drivers safe during the pandemic. With the help of Waze's Crisis Response team and volunteer Map Editors, here are the new in-app features: New Notification: Users will now be greeted with a "Drive only if necessary" notification, alongside a "Stay safe and healthy. Drive-Thrus and Curbside Pickups: Waze can now identify the places that allow drive-thru and curbside pickups, letting Wazers know where they can get essential items. Updated Reference Laboratories: Waze has pinned 59 reference laboratories, with more on the way. COVID-19 Landing Page: To help governments, academics, and the interested public, Waze is making its COVID-19 Impact Dashboard available internally. Waze has pushed an update to their iOS and Android app to include a new vehicle type, the motorcycle. The motorcycle vehicle type option is the third unique vehicle type supported by Waze and comes complete with specialized routing to help riders navigate the roads simpler and faster. In addition to the real-time road updates and alerts, users riding in motorcycle mode will be directed on routes optimized for motorcyclists based on where fellow Wazers-on-wheels are riding.
