Following the recent defacement of Comelec’s website last March 27, a new cyber attack is now affecting some of the Philippine's government websites and other local websites. Indonesian Defacer Team have successfully hacked and defaced these websites late April 27 (Wednesday). In line with this, the Anonymous Philippines posted a warning on their Facebook Page concerning the low-level security of our government websites. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reported that 19 government websites were hacked. As we investigate further the proliferation of these online gambling sites, it turns out that some of them have been doing some hacking on the side and targetting government websites to rank on search engines, especially Google.
