This move suggests the company wants to be in line with brands that are known for providing long-term software support for their offerings. Xiaomi has yet to confirm the full list of devices eligible for the extended policy. The Xiaomi Box runs on a heavily customized Android OS with support for 720p and 1080p video outputs and can stream online video contents from sources like Sohu, PPTV, Tencent, Sina, Funshion, Netease, and iFeng for free. As for the hardware, the Xiaomi Box has a curved polycarbonate body that houses the Cortex-A9 800MHz processor, 1GB of RAM, HDMI Out, Ethernet jack, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Micro-USB port with On-The-Go (OTG) support, and Power Socket.
