#Xperia 1 VI

Sony's signature Xperia line has always been known for its unique silhouette: a super tall phone with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio. But according to a new leak, the upcoming Xperia 1 VI is set to mark a major design shift. [caption id="attachment_354073" align="alignnone" width="1080"] Image/ zackbuks[/caption] Leaker zackbuks on Weibo claims the Xperia 1 VI will ditch the 4K resolution display (goodbye, 3,840 x 1,644 pixels from the Xperia 1 V) in favor of a more mainstream 2K or Quad HD+ (around 3,200 x 1,440 pixels) panel. [caption id="attachment_354072" align="alignnone" width="1280"] Image/ zackbuks[/caption] Regardless, the overall aesthetic remains largely similar to previous Xperia phones, with the thick top and bottom bezels and left-aligned camera bump. Perhaps, the shift to a lower-resolution, wider display could potentially be a cost-cutting measure for Sony, (which has historically been a major sticking point) making the Xperia line more competitive. In an email by Sony Ericsson today, the new Sony Ericsson XPeria X1 phone will be coming out to the public tomorrow in stores but people who made early reservations are supposed to get their own units today.
