If you’re paying for YouTube Premium to enjoy ad-free videos, you might have noticed something strange lately, ads are slipping through. One Premium subscriber claimed their account had been automatically switched to Premium Lite, a cheaper plan that still serves ads. Premium Lite costs $7.99/month (PHP 456.53), compared to the $13.99/month (PHP 799.36) full Premium plan, which removes ads entirely. And from a business standpoint, it doesn’t make sense to force users onto a cheaper plan, suggesting this could just be a technical hiccup.
