ZTE Mobile today launched 6 new handsets in the Philippines with the ZTE Skate as its flagship Android smartphone. We first saw the ZTE Skate in June 2011 during CommunicAsia in Singapore. ZTE execs tell us the ICS update will come out soon. ZTE Mobile is positioning the Skate as the most affordable 4.3-inch handset in the market. ZTE is also doing some big-ass Android smatphone and the ZTE Skate looks to be the flagship handset. Found this one at the ZTE booth in CommunicAsia last Wednesday. The ZTE Skate reminds me of the HTC Desire HD only with a plasticky construction (think Dell Streak 5) and a bit thicker than most other Android smartphones I've seen. The specs aren't that impressive either but that really depends on what's the price point of the Skate.
