Globe Studios is the telco’s first foray into content creation together with local and Asian media houses. It will produce original movies and TV series to meet the demand for mobile entertainment.
It will be backed by Viva Films, Reality Entertainment, Quantum Films, Spring Films and Astro of Malaysia, and will serve as a platform for new content from well-known directors such as Erik Matti, Paul Soriano, Quark Henares, Dan Villegas, Sigrid Bernardo, Joyce Bernal, and Lav Diaz.
Content produced by Globe Studios will be seen in theaters as well as digital mobile platforms.
In addition to the announcement of Globe Studios, Globe has also announced its partnership with Netflix, bringing the streaming company’s library of videos to subscribers here in the Philippines.
