Facebook Live streaming will come to cameras and drones

Facebook held its F8 developer conference where they announced a couple of things including their new 360-degree camera. They also mentioned that their Facebook Live streaming service will be accessible by all devices and not just smartphones or tablets.

In line with this, they announced the $399 Mevo camera made by Livestream. It is currently the first camera with built-in Live-streaming capabilities that users could take advantage of by simply syncing their Facebook accounts with the device.

That’s not all. Facebook also opened up the Live API for easy streaming on any device. This makes it possible for drones to shoot and stream at the same time — useful for covering big events. An update for DJI’s app will be pushed which will allow for this feature to materialize.

For us casual Facebook users, this means that new ways of watching content will soon be accessible in our news feeds.
