Filipino workers in Malaysia were able to renew their professional licenses without going home after the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) held its first Foreign Mobile Service (FMS) in the country on April 12, 2026. The service was done in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) through the Alagang OWWA Caravan.

The two-day event took place at the JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur, where more than 400 PRC transactions were processed, including ID renewals. In total, over 2,000 Filipinos were served by different government agencies during the event.
The program aimed to help Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) save time and money by bringing services closer to them. Instead of flying back to the Philippines, workers in Malaysia were able to renew their licenses and complete other requirements on-site.
Among those who used the service was Third Secretary and Vice Consul Kirstoff Gail D. Ocampo. The PRC team was led by Director Paul H. Aban, along with staff from different regional offices and the International Affairs Office.

Organizers said this is the first time the PRC mobile service was held in Malaysia since it started its global rollout in 2023. Many OFWs welcomed the program, saying it removed the need for costly travel and made it easier to stay compliant with PRC rules.
