What’s in my Tech Bag? (2026) – Nico Sun

Listen to article

Whether you’re someone who is always on the go or someone working onsite for their 9-5 job like me, let’s face it there are just some things we can’t leave the house without, and basically feel incomplete without them in your bag. This is what this article about, it’s the tech items that I absolutely need in my bag otherwise I won’t be able to function.

1. Bag

First, let’s start with the bag I carry around with me everywhere. It’s the Multi Pocket Shoulder Bag from Uniqlo. This versatile messenger bag has enough space for basically everything you need, books, gaming consoles, tablets, and even some small laptops. It’s incredibly lightweight , has around 7 pockets for an abundant amount of storage, and is even water-repellent.

Whether if you’re travelling abroad, going to work, or just heading to a cafe to read and chat with your friends, this is the one bag that I think would be perfect for you, I, myself even have all three colors to match with wherever I’m going.

2. Handheld Fan

Your everyday carry isn’t really complete without one of these, I think we can all say that walking around the Metro without our favorite handheld fans is borderline impossible. With summer just around the corner, having a fan with you is basically a need at this point.

As someone who frequently commutes to Makati, having to wait for those lines to get on the bus, or even enjoys a good stroll around the CBD, carrying one of these fans is an absolute must. You can’t really go wrong with any of the brands (Akari, Jisulife, etc.), but one dealbreaker with these fans for me is that it must be USB-C charging, and the reason as to why, we’ll talk about next.

3. Earphones/Headphones

The music lovers here can one hundred percent relate to this one. Whether they’re AirPods, or even wired earphones, or both, I absolutely cannot leave the house without them. There was a point where I had three pairs of headphones/earphones in my backpack; noise-cancelling headphones, wireless earphones, and wired headphones. After deciding to downsize my everyday carries however, I decided to only bring around two.

Koss Porta Pro Wireless Legend Revival For $99.99

The first one I have on me are from Soundcore, they’re the Soundcore Liberty 4 noise-cancelling earphones I bought years ago. The 5s are now available on their website, and from what I’ve read about them so far, they’re much better than their older sibling. Now my 2nd pair is a little bit more of an acquired taste, they’re the Koss Porta Pros. Growing up in the late 90s, the look of these bad boys always give me a little bit of nostalgia. They’re open-back on-ear headphones, so if you don’t mind having your surroundings being heard, these are perfect for you. The Porta Pros are incredibly portable, and sound amazing especially with its price point.

So if you’re the type who constantly needs to be listening to music, having a pair of earphones/headphones is an absolute necessity.

4. Charger

I’m in the belief that when leaving the house, all you need is to bring around 1-2 charging cords with you (lightning and Type C). Which is why I make sure that not only are my gadgets all charged by USB-C, but also that the charging brick I carry around is powerful enough to charge everything, and sometimes charge everything all at once.

Which is why I carry around my UGREEN 65W adapter DataBlitz →. This thing is extremely convenient; it’s got 2 USB-C ports, and a USB 3.0 port, which makes charging multiple devices incredibly easy. In most cases, you’ll see me charging both my laptop and phone at the same time. UGREEN has really been stepping up their game lately in the power bank/charger aspect, so there newer stuff have been great. If you do want to splurge a little bit, Anker makes amazing products as well.

I do recommend going up a bit in terms of power output, as both brands come with a 100W and 140W charging brick. If you ask me, I think 100W might be the sweet spot for both price and power output.

5. Power Bank

Just like the charging bricks, you can’t really go wrong with UGREEN or Anker power banks. This is more of how large of a power bank are you willing to carry around with you. For someone who is always on the go, and not really sure if a socket will be available wherever I do end up being, a 10,000Mah power bank fits me just fine. It’s able to charge my phone, kindle, and handheld console even just a bit to play for another 30 minutes or so, it’s also light enough that it doesn’t really bother me when I put it in my bag.

I’ve got the Anker MagGo Power Bank, as it also comes with MagSafe charging, and is extremely convenient to carry around whether in your back or pocket. My favorite thing about this though is that it has a little display on the side that shows you its battery percentage.

6. Steam Deck/Nintendo Switch 2

For the gamers out there, we absolutely need one of these when leaving the house. From waiting in lines, commuting on the bus, or in a grab, having your handheld consoles with you is an absolute must. As an avid gamer myself, I even have days where I just want to get out of the house, go to my favorite coffee/matcha spot and just play whatever it is I’m playing at the time.

Right now, I bring my Steam Deck OLED around with me, as I’m currently going through my 3rd playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, which is also available on the Nintendo Switch 2 by the way. Other than listening to music, gaming on-the-go is the perfect way to kill time.

There you have it, some of the essentials I need in my tech bag. For someone who gets bored easily, and is always on the go, these are just some of the things I need to have with me. These might change from time to time, but these are some of the items and gadgets I need with me in order to surive.
