Dreaming of an HDTV Christmas

My brother and I had dinner at Marc’s bachelor pad the other night where he introduced me to his brand new Samsung 32-inch HDTV and an X-Box 360. He jokingly adds “there goes the seo contest prize money!“.

Samsung HDTV

The HDTV was a real beauty and I was actually dreaming of one lately. If by any chance any of you have recently visited Abensons, you would have noticed the Samsung sale. Looks like there are newer models to come our way this coming holiday — what with the hard-to-ignore sale on HDTVs?

Here’s the big winner:

If you buy a 32″ Samsung Slim-Fit HDTV, you’d get 29″ Flat-screen TV for free along with a wall-mount rack plus a 2GB Samsung Yepp MP3 player. All for a low, low price of only Php78,000USD 1,329INR 112,679EUR 1,266CNY 9,680 which can be had at zero percent (0%) interest for 12 months! But wait, there’s more! You can get a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and DVD player for an additional Php5,000USD 85INR 7,223EUR 81CNY 621 only. But, there’s still more — if you pay in cash, you get a Php10,000USD 170INR 14,446EUR 162CNY 1,241 discount.

(Ever heard of that Home TV Shopping spiel? *hehehe*)

So there you go, the entire set is about Php73k all in all. Not a bad deal, huh? As long as you have the cash.

Ok, I’ll stop here before I forget I also want an N73.

  1. tanong lang po… worth ba bumili ng HDTV dito sa pinas? meron na ba nagbbroadcast sa atin na high definition talaga?

  2. hey abe, i was also ogling at this when i was in megamall the other day….could this be the TV that blogging bought….abangan…hehe

  3. oh yes I saw these at Abenson’s at Walter Mart. But we’re buying a house so these toys have to wait.

  4. Hey Marc hasn’t announced yet – the bachelor pad which blogging bought!

  5. @koolitz,
no HD broadcast in RP yet, maybe in ?? years but you could enjoy HD with dvd movies.

  6. gamit na gamit yung infomercial experiences mo yugs ha? hehehe.

  7. Can’t take my eyes on the 32″ Sony Bravia LCD TV… it cost P72K here in Saudi Arabia. I’m still waiting for a few months for the price to go down. Pasalubong for my movie-addict family and for myself too! Sana may pambili pa.. hehe..

  8. I just can’t imagine watching those telenovelas in HD. hehehehe =)

  9. There has been news in INQ7 about the NTC licensing digital TV stations and disallowing new analog registrations.

I doubt if the our local broadcasters would make the big investment in going HD, and would probably stick to standard definition.

Of course I’m sure they want to stick to analog if they can!

  10. sorry, i’m not familiar with the latest brands in Pinas…but here in japan, AQUOS by Sharp is the leading brand when it comes to LCD flat panel TVs. the 37″full-spec hi-vision LCD TV costs about P100-120k, though. but in my opinion, if you’re intent on owning one, don’t just settle for 32″ – go for 37″! ;-)

  11. Naku…yan yung matagal ko nang inaawitan. I remember may promo sila dati na may free 17 or 20″ LCD TV. Sabi ko nga perfect replacement for my CRT computer monitor.

Kaso, doodads yang mga yang eh :-)

  12. Put that on your wish list for Santa Claus. Have you been naughty or nice?

  13. HA HA HA!!! nai-imagine kita Abe. di magkandaugaga sa bibilhin. ;-) go man!

  14. noel, LCD prices are so low now. Give your eyes, your powerbill and the environment a break for Christmas!

  15. I’m planning to bring home (from Vancouver) an akai hdtv, it has an ntsc tuner, and 110-220v, will the tv works in the Philippines?

  16. I love stumbleupon for being able to show me this site. immediate fan now. I have viewed some really poor web sites on stumble and when I discovered this, I immediately knew it had been good! This article is entertaining especially for someone like me haha. I’ve been attempting to read a lot more these days and being able to discover a site like this is good for my education. Love what you are doing, looking forward to reading more!
