0:00So, peeps early figure tags, so the Oppo
0:02Find X9S has been out for a while and it
0:05does look like a smaller flagship at
0:07first glance. But, don’t let its compact
0:09size fool you. Behind its sleek design
0:12is a smartphone packed with a powerful
0:13hardware, capable cameras, and one of
0:16the biggest batteries we’ve seen in its
0:18class. After using it as our daily
0:20driver, here’s what we think about the
0:22Oppo Find X9S. Roll that intro.
0:28Starting with the design, the Find X9S
0:30certainly has that premium vibe, as it
0:32should [music] since this is a flagship
0:34phone after all. Our unit is in the
0:36sunset orange colorway and at first, I
0:38felt like the color wasn’t for me. It’s
0:41very pale, kind of pastel color, but
0:43it’s growing on me, not going to lie.
0:45It’s not that loud, it still looks
0:47sophisticated. The gradient color on its
0:49rear definitely makes it more appealing.
0:52With a screen size of 6.59 inches, it’s
0:54very compact and handy. It has a thin
0:57frame measuring only 7.9 mm and weighing
1:00about 220 g. In addition, it also feels
1:03sturdy in the hands, sporting a metal
1:05frame and a glass back panel. There’s
1:07also a Gorilla Glass 7i on top of the
1:09display for scratch resistance. And the
1:11phone is also IP66, 68, and 69 rated for
1:15dust and water resistance. That’s quite
1:17a strong protection right there. And for
1:19extra peace of mind, the phone also
1:20comes with a silicon case in the box.
1:23For buttons and ports, there’s the power
1:24button and volume rocker on the right
1:26side, which are seated a little high for
1:28my liking. On the left, you’ll see that
1:30so-called snap key that’s customizable
1:32and can launch various shortcuts and
1:34tools. Up top, there’s an IR blaster,
1:36while at the bottom, there’s the USB-C,
1:38SIM tray, and the speaker grill. Now,
1:41going back to the display, the Oppo Find
1:43X9S delivers in this segment. The phone
1:46features a 6.59 inch Pro XDR LTPS AMOLED
1:50display with 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby
1:52Vision and Atmos support, and up to
1:543,600 nits of peak brightness. Scrolling
1:57on socials, reading some articles here
1:59and there, everything feels smooth. When
2:01watching movies, series, or some newly
2:03released music videos, I just love how
2:05immersive the screen [music] is, mainly
2:07thanks to those thin and uniform bezels.
2:09And when using it outdoors, the screen
2:11remains visible even under direct
2:13sunlight. Audio-wise, the Oppo Find X9 S
2:15delivers a decent listening experience.
2:17The mids and highs come through clearly,
2:19while the overall loudness is more than
2:21enough for casual media consumption.
2:23That said, the bass response leaves a
2:25bit to be desired, making the sound less
2:28punchy and immersive than I expected.
2:30Even so, the speakers still provide
2:32respectable audio quality that’s
2:33perfectly suitable for watching videos,
2:36listening to music, or everyday use.
2:38When it comes to biometrics, the
2:39experience is just as solid. Both face
2:41unlock and the ultrasonic in-display
2:43fingerprint scanner are fast and
2:45reliable, with quick registration and
2:47consistent recognition. My only minor
2:49complaint is that the placement of the
2:51fingerprint scanner is positioned
2:53slightly higher than I’d prefer, which
2:55can make it a little awkward to reach,
2:57especially when unlocking the phone with
2:59one hand. Moving on to cameras, the Oppo
3:01Find X9 S features the same triple
3:03camera setup found on the Find X9. It
3:05packs three 50-megapixel sensors for the
3:07main, ultrawide, and telephoto cameras,
3:10all housed in a square-shaped camera
3:12module, which is a noticeable departure
3:14from its predecessor’s circular design.
3:16Photos captured with the main camera are
3:18vibrant, well-balanced, and [music] rich
3:20in detail. Images come out sharp, clear,
3:23with plenty of detail preserved even
3:25when zooming in. For subjects that are
3:26farther away, the telephoto camera
3:28offers up to 6x optical quality zoom
3:30with impressive results. You can push it
3:33all the way to 120x digital zoom, though
3:35at that point, image quality naturally
3:38starts to degrade, even with some AI
3:39enhancement going on. The ultrawide
3:41camera also performs well, delivering
3:43consistent colors and good details
3:45across a wider field of view. Combined
3:47with Oppo’s Hasselblad tuned imaging
3:49system, photos generally come out
3:51looking refined and well processed.
3:52[music] Portrait mode is another
3:54highlight. Subject separation is clean
3:56and accurate producing a natural looking
3:58background blur while keeping facial
3:59details sharp and well refined. For
4:01selfies, the phone is equipped with a 32
4:03megapixel front camera that captures
4:05[music] detailed and natural looking
4:07selfies. Skin tones appear realistic and
4:09colors are well balanced, although
4:11images do tend to lean slightly toward
4:13cooler tones. When it comes to video,
4:15the Find X9S can record at up to 4K at
4:1860 frames per second using both the rear
4:20and front cameras. Video quality is
4:22excellent with accurate colors, [music]
4:24good details, and a vibrant look. One
4:26thing I noticed is that the camera tends
4:28to emphasize green and red tones a bit
4:30more. Thanks to optical image
4:31stabilization, videos remain smooth and
4:34steady helping reduce unwanted shakes
4:35[music] during handheld recording. So
4:37[snorts] peeps, early figure tech. Right
4:39now we’re using the Oppo Find X9S and
4:41we’re shooting at 4K at 60 frames per
4:43second. So this is the sample video of
4:45it using the front facing camera. So
4:47tell us your thoughts about the camera
4:49quality of this phone. Overall, cameras
4:51have always been one of Oppo’s strongest
4:53areas and the Find X9S continues that
4:55tradition. Performance-wise, the Oppo
4:58Find X9S delivered a consistently smooth
5:00experience throughout our testing.
5:02Powering the device is the MediaTek
5:04Dimensity 9500S processor paired with 12
5:07gig of RAM. It also comes with a
5:09generous 512 gig of internal storage
5:11giving you plenty of room for apps,
5:13games, photos, and videos. In day-to-day
5:15use, the phone handled everything we
5:17threw at it with ease. Whether it was
5:18taking notes, browsing the web, managing
5:21multiple social media accounts, or
5:22jumping between productivity apps, the
5:24experience remained fast and responsive.
5:27Even with a bunch of apps running in the
5:28background, the Find X9S showed no signs
5:31of slowing down. In AnTuTu version 11,
5:33the phone scored an impressive 2.9
5:35million points. That’s a strong result
5:37and a good indication of the performance
5:39you can expect from this device. If
5:41you’re curious about a full benchmark
5:42breakdown, here you [music] go.
5:53>> Gaming performance was equally
5:55impressive. For lighter titles such as
5:58Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, and
5:59Pokémon Unite, the phone handled these
6:02games effortlessly. Moving on to more
6:04demanding titles like Watering Waves and
6:06Genshin Impact, the Find X9 S continued
6:08to perform exceptionally well. Games ran
6:11smoothly even with graphic settings
6:13pushed to their highest presets,
6:14maintaining a consistently enjoyable
6:16gaming experience throughout our
6:17sessions. However, expect some
6:19occasional stutters every now and then,
6:21especially if the graphics are maxed out
6:23for these titles. So, we’d recommend
6:25toning it down to medium for a more
6:26consistent gameplay. Thermal management
6:29is also worth highlighting. Despite the
6:31phone’s strong performance, heat was
6:33kept under control remarkably well.
6:35While the device did become slightly
6:36warm during extended gaming session, it
6:38never reached a point where it felt
6:40uncomfortable to hold or use. Out of the
6:42box, the Oppo Find X9 S runs ColorOS 16
6:45based on Android 16. The overall
6:47software experience is smooth,
6:49responsive, and easy to navigate. One of
6:51its biggest strengths is the level of
6:52customization available. From widgets
6:55and themes to wallpapers and icon
6:56styles, there are plenty of ways to
6:58personalize the interface and make it
7:00feel uniquely yours. Like most
7:02smartphones today, the Find X9 S comes
7:04with a handful of pre-installed apps.
7:06Fortunately, most of these can be
7:08removed easily, making the extra
7:10software far less intrusive than it
7:12might initially seem. The phone also
7:14includes a growing suite of AI-powered
7:16features designed to improve
7:17productivity and everyday convenience.
7:19These tools extend to gallery app where
7:21AI-assisted editing features make it
7:23easier to enhance photos and fine-tune
7:25images with minimal effort. To top it
7:27all off, Oppo is committing five major
7:30Android OS upgrade and six years of
7:32security updates for the Find X9 series.
7:34Battery-wise, this is where the Find X9
7:36S has a huge improvement. The Find X9 S
7:39now packs has 7,025 mAh capacity. While
7:43it sports a compact size, it
7:44surprisingly lasts a long time. Based on
7:46my experience, I only charge the phone
7:48twice for a week of typical usage. Our
7:51PCMark battery life test can vouch for
7:53us, able to hit 22 hours and 12 minutes
7:56of uptime. While our standard video loop
7:57test, it recorded more than 50 hours of
7:59playback. When it’s time to charge, the
8:01Find X9 S comes with an 80-watt wired
8:04charging support. Unfortunately, no
8:06wireless charging support here, which is
8:08a bit of a letdown for a flagship series
8:10model. On the bright side, it has a
8:11bypass charging support and a smart
8:14charging feature, both aimed to maintain
8:15its battery health optimal in the long
8:17run. Connectivity-wise, it packs all the
8:19essentials, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth
8:216, NFC, dual nano SIM with eSIM
8:24compatibility, 5G, and an IR blaster for
8:27convenient wireless remote control for
8:29your home appliances. Before we wrap
8:31things up, let’s talk about pricing. The
8:34Oppo Find X9 S is priced at 69,999
8:37pesos in the Philippines and is
8:39available in a single 12 gig plus 512
8:41gig configuration. So, with everything
8:43said and done, the Oppo Find X9 S
8:46successfully combines a sleek yet
8:48durable design, a vibrant display,
8:50capable cameras, flagship-level
8:52performance, and impressive battery life
8:55in a compact form factor. Its Hasselblad
8:57True Tone camera system consistently
8:59produces excellent photos across
9:00different shooting scenarios, while the
9:02MediaTek Dimensity 9500 S chipset
9:05provides more than enough power for both
9:07everyday tasks and demanding workloads.
9:10Battery life is another standout
9:11feature, comfortably lasting through
9:13several days of use. Of course, no
9:15device is perfect. The lack of wireless
9:17charging and the slightly high placement
9:19of the fingerprint scanner may be minor
9:21inconveniences, in my opinion. But,
9:23neither significantly affects the
9:25overall experience. While the price may
9:27be difficult to justify for some buyers,
9:29the combination of performance, camera,
9:31battery life makes it a compelling
9:33option for those looking for a powerful
9:35flagship in a more compact and
9:36comfortable size.
