I checked my 5-year old blog at Blogspot a while ago but Blogger says it was temporarily out of service. Then it points me to WordPress.org suggesting that it’s a better blogging tool.
So Google is admitting that WordPress is much better than its own blogging tool, Blogger.
Is this a sign that Google might replace Blogger with the WP counterpart that is WordPress.com? Will there be an acquisition soon?
Ok, maybe Blogger is just sending some link love to his cousin but sometimes, it’s fun to speculate.
Ok, so I really shouldn’t be complaining because blogger is free and all, but sometimes, I make a post and it takes 2 days for it to come out on the index page. And then today, I tried uploading .gif and .png files, and everytime I did, blogger would convert them into .jpg files. I need to have them as .gif or .png because I need to keep the images’ transparent areas. Jpeg files make these transparent areas either white or black. I used to be able to upload gif files without blogger changing them. I can’t understand why on earth their program is converting the files to .jpg now. haay…
Yes, WordPress all the way. :)
Thanks for the reply. I’m considering moving my blog elsewhere. I do experience a lot of problems with blogger. Do you think wordpress is better too?
That’s a “Yes” for both.
Is wordpress free? And will Adsense and Text Link Ads work on wordpress blogs?

I have to agree that wp.org is waaay better than blogger.
Unfortunately, wp.com still needs a lot of work compared to blogger.
I hate to spoil the party, but you’re wrong. When you import entries from blogger to wp it automaticaly modifies your template to say that. When it happened to me a few months ago I was stunned until I figured this out :)
WordPress has so many features thanks to the various developers. I remember my daughter beta tested the script with Michel V, original author in 2001 . WordPress came from b2(cafelog.com). The chunky Greymatter cgi script was the in thing then but thanks to Michel V, he made cgi-mysql database conversion possible.
I saw the development through the years. And when Michel couldn’t handle the development, he made his original script an open source. How it has evolved. I am impressed with the script.
WordPress is definitely better. I outlined some reasons that makes it a worthy blogging platform. ;)
That’s interesting.
I hope so. WP is so much better.
