Intel announces Tiger Lake processor, Thunderbolt 4

Intel introduced its newest mobile processor, codenamed Tiger Lake, at CES 2020. The company also teased Thunderbolt 4 alongside it.

Tiger Lake is built on a 10nm+ process and will have integrated graphics based on the Intel Xe graphics architecture. While the company did not state any specifics, Intel also divulged that Tiger Lake will be able to deliver double-digit performance gains and AI improvements. During the keynote, Intel also unveiled that Tiger Lake will debut with Thunderbolt 4, the newest version of Intel’s connector. Intel mentioned that the Thunderbolt 4 will be “four times the throughput of USB 3”.

The first devices equipped with Tiger Lake are expected to ship sometime this year. Check out Tiger Lake’s introduction video below:
