After years of waiting for the guys from MeasureMap to update their awesome blog analytics service, they've actually done something there. For those who didn't remember, MeasureMap was bought by Google in mid February of 2006. Google's been known to kill start-ups they buy (see Dodgeball) so it's a surprise that after more than 2 years, MeasureMap will be revived. According to email instructions, all MeasureMap accounts will be converted: Convert your Measure Map account to Google Analytics We're giving our earliest users of Measure Map an opportunity to use our new service, built on the powerful Google Analytics platform and continuing to use the interface you're familiar with. If so, we'll put a "Stats" tab on your Blogger dashboard.) Once your MeasureMap account is converted, they'll ask you to wait as they will need to do "some tweaking" from their end to finalize the conversion. Question though is, will I get a much better and fully functional MeasureMap account? GA is good but MeasureMap was specifically tailored to bloggers and the data that it filters and presents are the very relevant ones bloggers most often want to figure out.
